Oakland Heights farm was first started in 1979 by David and Sally Lamb. The facilities include 2 riding rings, cross country jumps, miles and miles of trails, and horses to fit every level of rider.
David Lamb has over forty years of experience in the equine industry. He is an industry leader who has created a trail business which is recognized globally and folks from around the world come to experience the splendor of central Virginia by horseback. He serves on the boards of The Virginia Horse Council, The Virginia Quarter Horse Association and the Equine Industry Board of Virginia.
Through his leadership, David has helped to open miles of trails throughout Virginia.
David’s experience includes training and riding cutting, reining and pleasure horses. He has a deep knowledge of the western breeds including quarter horses, appaloosas, and paints. Throughout his career, David has managed and judged numerous horse shows including the State Fair of Virginia.
Sally Lamb also has over forty years of experience in the equine industry. Her focus is on hunters, jumpers, eventing, fox hunting and side saddle. With over 50 years of experience in fox hunting, Sally shares a deep love for the sport and knows what is needed in a fox hunting mount.
Sally has managed USHJA and USEF rated shows and over the years has had numerous top five nationally ranked horses. She is the President of the Virginia Horse Council.
Sally’s love of the equestrian sport is something that she shares with adults and children alike. She takes pride in matching youngsters with their first horses as well as scouting out a potential hunter champion. Her unique contacts through out the industry bring a vast array of options to the table when trying to find the horse that is just right for you. Safety and suitability for your chosen sport is her prime guide.
